The work of capturing stories about place oftens connects with the struggle to maintain places in the face of rennovation and redevelopment. In the community where I live, there has been a a fierce debate about what to do with a stretch of shoreline and small peninsula of undeveloped land jutting into the San Francisco Bay.

The tour of the area, and the video above, suggest ways to think about values that we need to sustain in our idea of recreational space, including the idea of a raw space that children and artists can explore.
